  • If you have employer-sponsored insurance based on current employment, the other health insurance pays first, Medicare pays second and TRICARE pays last.
  • In this case, your provider will file your health care claims.
  • If you have OHI that isnt based on your or a family members current employment, Medicare pays first, the OHI pays second and TRICARE pays last.
  • In this case, you must file a claim with the TFL contractor. Submit a paper claim to WPS along with a copy of:
  • your provider’s itemized bill,
  • the Medicare Summary Notice, and
  • the explanation of benefits from all other health insurances.
  • Your claim must be filed within one year from the date of care. For more information, visit the WPS website.

Special Operations Forces Training and Experimentation Center ...

Pure Consulting. If you are not ready to order a report but simply want answers to questions about your Social Security situation, I charge by the hour as of the time we begin focusing on your particular situation. The hourly fee is $240 with a minimum charge of $150. That includes time spent on any background work that may be required to answer your questions. If the conversation moves into either a Comprehensive or Summary report, the consulting time may be folded into the quoted fee.

Comprehensive Report. Most clients ask me to prepare a detailed, handcrafted written report illustrating a range of 4 to 6 claiming options, which includes any particular strategies you would like to see illustrated. The report is personalized, with step-by-step explanations of each strategy, along with strategy comparison table, cash flow tables, comparison charts, and standardized Appendix containing reference material. The fee includes a follow-up phone call within a week of the time the report is delivered, or a reasonable amount of email communication, to clarify any items contained in the report.

A typical fee range for the above runs from $650 to $850, depending on complexity and the number of strategies illustrated. In very complex situations the fee could be higher. The Comprehensive Report is almost mandatory for very complex situations including those that require manual calculations.

But I Have Seen Some Free Retirement Seminars Offered

The organizations running free retirement seminars are still paying the bills somehow. Usually this is through selling their own financial products . There is clearly an agenda at these events, and the information is neither unbiased nor necessarily trustworthy, given this clear conflict of interest. The Securities and Exchange Commission and OPM both advise strongly against allowing these types of providers access to federal facilities, or using them in place of professional retirement educators who are being paid for their expertise directly.

SEC briefed FEB & Agency leadership on this issue. Additionally, TSP released a helpful guide to choosing a retirement educator.
